NWRPC Begins Work on Northern Washburn County CWPP

NWRPC has begun working on a Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) for northern Washburn County including the towns of Chicog, Minong, Brooklyn, Frog Creek and the Village of Minong.

A CWPP is a community based planning tool to facilitate wildfire mitigation activities and to protect communities and resources from the devastating impacts of wildfire. This CWPP will fill in an important planning gap within the fire-prone barrens ecosystem of northwestern Wisconsin. The planning process will extend through 2014 with a final plan available for public review around first of January 2015.

For more information regarding this planning process visit the project webpage at www.nwrpc.com/washburncwpp.
