NWRPC has prepared the 2021 Annual CEDS Performance Report which analyzes the region's current economic conditions and serves as an update on progress towards reaching regional goals and objectives and implementing the region’s plan of action.
In 1973, the Economic Development Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce designated the Northwest Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (NWRPC) as an Economic Development District (EDD). NWRPC provides professional services to local units of governments, communities, and businesses to strengthen the regional economy and assist businesses with the retention and creation of high skill/high wage jobs. As a component of the EDD designation, a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) is prepared to guide the economic growth of the region. In 2020, NWRPC adopted a new five-year CEDS which provides an analysis of local conditions; identifies the problems, needs, and opportunities of the district; defines the vision, goals, and objectives of the district; and designates and coordinates strategies and/or activities to accomplish and implement its goals. The five-year CEDS can be viewed online at www.nwrpc.com/CEDS.
