Northwest Wisconsin Regional Business Fund, Inc. (NWRED) and Northwest Regional Planning Commission (NWRPC) SBA Micro Loan program awarded loan funding for Bant Law Office, LLC to purchase the existing Onchuck Law Office, S.C. in Phillips, Wisconsin.
Onchuck Law Office, S.C. has been in continual operation since 1985. Dale Onchuck of Onchuck Law Office has identified Beth Bant as a viable successor and has accepted the offer to purchase the existing law firm. Bant has taken full control and ownership of the law firm on January 1, 2018, and will operate Bant Law Office, S.C. under the trade name of Bant and Onchuck Law.
A homecoming of sorts, Bant grew up in Phillips and was very involved from a young age in the community. Her passion for horses and the outdoors led to many successful projects in high school and in her adulthood, including serving on the Price County Horse Council, and working with the Price County 4-H and the Price County Fair. Her community service also lends Bant’s service toward the Wills for our Heroes program, which provide essential legal documents free of charge to our nation’s first responders, including wills, living wills, and powers of attorney.
Prior to the business purchase, Bant worked for Onchuck Law Office to ensure appropriateness of business buyout and to learn the operation and clients. Bant also brings years of professional experience as a lawyer, auditor, consultant, and manager. Bant has received her Juris Doctorate (UW-Madison), Masters in Professional Accountancy and a Bachelors of Arts in Accounting (UW-Whitewater), is certified in Public Accounting, Fraud Examiner, Internal Auditor, and holds a Paralegal Certificate and is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter.
Bant Law Office, S.C. will continue the legal services that are currently practiced, such as Real Estate Law and Probate, Wills, Estate and Trusts, Elder Care and Power of Attorney, with an extra specialized niche in assisting families and couples with Medicaid applications.
Ultimately, Bant wants to provide families with quality estate resources and access to medical assistance and will strive to deliver to individuals, couples and families affordable services that add value to clients’ businesses and lives. Bant Law Office is willing to ask the tough questions, provide proactive planning and advice, and be exceedingly thorough, to help the client protect the most precious asset—his or her family.
NWRED’s revolving loan funding and the NWRPC’s SBA Micro Loan Fund in partnership with the lead lender, Johnson Bank, has helped Bant obtain the ability to purchase her own law firm in her hometown, and has retained 4 jobs in Phillips, Wisconsin.
